We all know it's hard to keep up with the trends when it comes to home design. Just as soon as you get your home how you want it, you see a new idea in a magazine, or a design show will inspire a new look. The problem for most of us is not that we don't want to do it all over again, but it's that we simply can't afford it. That's why I am always looking for new ways to freshen up my space that I can do myself for less money. I practically live at home improvement and craft stores. Adding a new coat of paint to a wall, or creating some homemade art for hanging is pretty self explanatory, and inexpensive.

The thing that really hurts the pocket book is replacing furniture. Especially furniture with upholstery. Lucky for us do it yourselfers, there is a fun and easy way to perk up an old piece of fabric covered furniture with fabric paint! I remember my mother trying to use dye on our old couch to try and stretch a few more years out of it. It was such a mess! The color was very uneven, and I think she had green hands for a week! Until recently there really wasn't much that could be done to update the look of a fabric covered piece, other than a slip cover. Upholstery fabric paint is used to cover up old fabric that is still in technically good condition, but doesn't fit your taste any longer. Having a professional upholster a piece of furniture for you can be quite expensive.

This provides a way to update a look for very little money. The best part is that it's also pretty easy. Most brands come in spray cans and can simply be sprayed right on! I was excited to find out about this way to spruce up my space, and I thought I would share it with you! I hope you enjoy being creative with your next home project with Simply Spray!
